Ouat Media celebrates their filmmakers at the Academy Awards

Toronto - Ouat Media Inc. (Ouat) is proud to announce that three of their short films have been nominated for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards:

GOD OF LOVE is a 19 minute live-action film about a lounge-singing darts champion named Raymond (dir. Luke Matheny) who finds his prayers are answered - literally - when he received a mysterious package of passion - inducing darts. The catch is that the one woman he loves - Kelly (Marian Brock), a drummer in his band - is already ni love with Ray's best friend Fozzie (Christopher Hirsh), the guitarist in the band. Romance is in the air in this bohemian charmer.

MADAGASCAR is a 12-minute animation from Sacrebleu Productions, which brings to life a traveler's journey through Madagascar by way of his diary. The stellar animation technique, directed by Bastien Dubois, acquaints the viewer with the Malagasy culture and Famadihana customs.

THE LOST THING is a 15-minute animation by first-time directors Andrew Ruhemann and Shaun Tan. It is a modern fable where a boy discovers a bizarre looking creature and tries to find out who owns it or where it belongs, and then sets out to find a 'place' for it.

God of Love has been nominated under the Short Film (Live Action) category and Madagascar and The Lost Thing have been nominated under the Short Film (Animation) category.

The Academy Awards will take place on February 27, 2011.
